Yes, I know that it has been a while since I last posted on here. I kept using the excuse that I wasn't sure what kind of direction I wanted to go on this blog. I haven't really had one before, I just woke up one day and said, "I'm going to start a blog." I had a great start, but I didn't keep going right away, so I lost the fire. However, a few of my good friends/fans told me to just update and let it happen. So here I am, finally posting.
I bet you are wondering, "what is the deal with the weird title?" Well I'll tell you, but first, you need some background. When I was in my Jr. year in high school I was convinced by a friend to take a ballroom class. Yes, a girl who needed a partner for the class. I reluctantly accepted. It was hard at first, because, lets face it, I am pretty white. I mean Barney could dance better than me. I ended up loving the class. I continued to take it for the rest of my high school semesters, and into college, this year being the best. My instructor asked me if I would be willing to be on the college Ballroom Dance Company. I gladly accepted, and last semester was really fun. I had a blast, but as I was getting ready to register for my classes the next semester, the current semester, I found out that they made a new requirement that to stay on the team I would have to take either Modern dance or Ballet. Luckily for me, my schedule would only allow for the Ballet class... There are only a few good things about this class: one, there are lots of girls in the class, and two, I don't have to wear tights. We recently had our Mid-term exam. We were required to remember a bunch of French words used in the Ballet world and the meaning of them. Also, we had to do a series of bar exercises. To show that we knew them. Luckily for me, we did them as a class, or I would have been doomed. Instructor: "OK, Muffin, show me the Frappé exercise." Muffin: "Um..isn't that a coffee drink?" Yeah, I would have failed.
So here's my thing, I love Ballroom, you get to dance with a partner and you get to dance many different styles. Not so much in ballet, it's really different. It's not bad, but lets face it, I suck at it, I just don't dig it. It's like Muffins. I love muffins. They are sweet but not too sweet and have a great texture. They are hearty enough to be a meal, and they come in tons of exciting flavors. Now lets look at French pastries, like a canelé for example. They taste good, every once in a while, but after about one, the sugar starts to give you a head ache and your still hungry. So, just let me have my muffins and you can keep the canelé.
